Eric Dawson Acquired by Toros

Austin, TX March 31, 2010 - The Austin Toros announced today that they have acquired forward Eric Dawson. The 6-7, 255 pound forward returned from Japan early this week after appearing in 30 games for the Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins. While with the Diamonds, he averaged 14.1 points and 9.7 rebounds in 20.4 minutes-per-game.

Dawson previously played for the Toros during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. During the 2007-08 season Dawson battled injury problems and only appeared in two games before being waived in February. The next year he returned averaging 10.4 points and 6.6 rebounds in 31 games. Before playing in Japan, Dawson played in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas for the San Antonio Spurs.

Dawson, who has a 7-6 wingspan, will wear jersey #99 tonight when the Toros take on the Tulsa 66ers at 7:30 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center.
