Forward
Connie Hawkins
Connie Hawkins swooped
into Phoenix in the franchise's second season and transformed the
Suns into a playoff contender. A four-time All-Star as a Sun, the
"Hawk" played some of his best games in the 1970 playoffs against
the Lakers, including a 34-point, 20-rebound outburst in Game 2,
which led to Phoenix's first-ever postseason win. Over his five
seasons with the Suns, the 6-8 forward averaged 20.5 points, 9.0
rebounds and 4.3 assists a night. In 1992, he became the club's
first Hall-of-Fame inductee, and he still works for the team as a
community relations representative.
